Examples of acceptable items:

Paper - Any dry, clean paper or paper product. No face tissue, napkins, and paper towels.

icon Newspaper and Magazines
icon Tissue boxes and food boxes (dispose of interior plastic)
icon Shredded paper (place into a paper bag)

Compost (and mulch or wood chips when available) is the product of the residential green waste program. The compost is certified and available for purchase.

TIRES

Tires cannot be disposed of in landfills, however they are collected at the landfills and transported to:

Golden By-Products, a commercial tire recycler
Pick-up available for larger quantities (100+ tires) or drop off any amount.

Landfill drop-off rates for tires are as follows:

$3 each - Passenger car/light truck tire
$7 each -Truck (standard sizes) tire
$85 each - Tractor tire with thin sidewall
$325 each - Loader tires
$645 each - Earthmover tires

Tires must have rims removed.
Tires with rims $5 additional charge
for each tire.

NOTE: It is unlawful to transport more than 9 tires without a waste tire hauler certificate. Highway Patrol can issue a citation for transporting tires over the limit without a waste tire hauler certificate. Contact (209) 381-1100 for specific compliance requirements.
